Music Hubs

The UK’s Department of Education allocated £171 million between August 2012 and March 2015 in the network of 123 Music Education Hubs throughout England. That money was intended to assist groups of organisations who were passionate about delivering excellent music education for children and young people.

Funding of over £75 million is available (distributed by the Arts Council) for music education for the financial year 2015/16.

The Arts Council has published a report (Ensuring Quality) that is designed to help Hubs to understand their role, and how they can develop the quality and reach of their work.

Some of the tools suggested are interesting, others may be more difficult to implement. We are in the process of designing specialist services using our knowledge of Music Hubs, for our Local Authority and Education contacts. If you would like some help to review your current delivery programmes, apply for funding or discuss your structure and governance arrangements, please make contact.
